12th grade – Community Health

The 12th grade curriculum of the Health Career Academy involves medical students training and supporting high school seniors as they assess the health of their community, determine community assets, partner with local community health organizations, and ultimately create a school health fair based on these assessments and community partnerships. The goal is for this project to come from the community and to empower the high school seniors to become health advocates and health leaders in their communities.

The video below was taken at the culminating health fair of the seniors at Martin Luther King High School in Philadelphia, PA.
