HCC Durham

HCC Durham was initiated in 2015 as a partnership between Duke School of Medicine and City of Medicine Academy High School.

The HCC faculty sponsor at Duke School of Medicine is Elisabeth Tracy, MD, who is an Assistant Professor of Surgery and the Associate Program Director of the General Surgery Residency Program.

This HCC site was initiated by Duke medical students Victoria Bendersky and Harold J. Leraas who were recipients of the Health Career Academy Program Initiation Grant sponsored by Aetna’s Division of Racial and Ethnic Equality. The program is further supported by Duke School of Medicine’s General Surgery Interest Group.
