HCC Gainesville was initiated in 2023 as a partnership between University of Florida College of Medicine and Eastside High School.
The faculty sponsor of the program at University of Florida College of medicine is Dr. Irina Murray-Casanova. The HCC chapter co-founders are general surgery resident, Dr. Angel Charles and psychiatry resident, Dr. Georgio Legerme.
