HCC Chicago

HCC Chicago was initiated in 2015 as a partnership between Loyola School of Medicine and J. Sterling Morton West High School. In 2026, Oak Park and River Forest High School was added as an additional high school partner.

At Morton West High School, HCC is led by Assistant Principal, Ms. Amanda Torres, and Ms. Araceli Torres-Proa, a parent Liaison, who helps coordinate HCC.

In 2015, medical students Lindsay Gil and Max Drescher were recipients of the Health Career Collaborative Program Initiation Grant sponsored by Aetna’s Division of Racial and Ethnic Equality.

For the 2021-2022 school year, the HCC medical student co-directors are Mai Nguyen and Adam Cardone who together with 14 medical student mentors, serve 60 sophomore and junior high school students.
