HCC Lubbock was initiated in 2022 as a partnership between Texas Tech University Health Science Center School of Medicine and Estacado High School.

The High School Program Leader at Estacado High School is Janet Copeland under the leadership of Principal Amy Carroll.

The founding medical student co-directors are Khaja Siddiqui and Jad Zeitouni. Medical students from Texas Tech University Health Science Center School of Medicine serve as volunteer mentors and instructors for the high school students at Estacado High School.
