HCC Kansas city was initiated in 2019 as a partnership between University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) and Wyandotte High School.

The faculty sponsor for the program is Dr. Jocelyn Hunter, Assistant Professor of Surgery, Associate Program Director, General Surgery Residency, University of Kansas Medical Center.

The 2019 Health Career Collaborative Program Initiation Grant was awarded to medical students QeeQee Gao and Harmony Saunders. Additional medical student founding members include: Sarah Bromley, Sara Ohadi-Hamadani, Madeleine St. Peter, and Christina Ward.

HCC Kansas City In-Action

High school students participate in an interactive activity to accompany the MI case. The purpose of the activity was to simulate what physicians do in a cath lab for acute treatment of patients.
