HCC Miami was initiated in 2020 as a partnership between University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and William Turner Technical Arts High School.

The faculty sponsor for the program is Dr. Julie Valenzuela, Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. The program manager is Janet Bringuez-Sanchez, Director of Programs for the Office of Community Engagement, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

At William Turner Technical Arts High School, HCC is led by Academy of Medical Sciences, Lead Dr. Gibbs-Hill.
