The HCC Surgery Curriculum can be utilized at any stage of the Health Career Collaborative program depending on mentor and student interest. Mentors do NOT need a background in surgery in order to present the material.

The HCC Surgery curriculum consists of four discrete lessons, as well as many live surgery videos in which a surgeon explains the surgery while the audience gets a surgeon’s view of an operation.

High school students tend to be very engaged by this content. We have received especially great feedback about the first lesson that focuses on design thinking in robotic surgery.
